*Disclaimer: My last two blogs have been largely ignored by the body of people here on Progressive U. I chaulk it up to not too eye-popping titles, disinterest in anything that is outside of the political spectrum and the overabundance of people on Pro U. Now I understand most on here who used to read my blogs are staff or are heavely buried in the end of school work. So I guess for now I'll go back to what gets me the most reads, lol.*
Once again religion, homosexuality and abortion are major topics on Pro U. So I guess I will begrudgingly get back into the mix since I find most religion stuff on here to be highly laughable. Since I am a fully recovered Christian, I'll work my way interupting the belief in free will that Christians so dearly hold onto.
Now first, let us look at Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. We are not told if humans have free will at this point, but it is assumed by scholars that humans do. The only problem with that argument is the utter paradox that stems from it. For in the Bible, it states that God knew you before your name was put into the book of life, and he knew everything since he can do whatever he wants, knows everything, is everywhere at once and is unbound by space and time, and has unconditional love. Why that is all well and good, it entirely misses the point. If God is all knowing, then humans have no free will because God already knows what is going to happen. So God could have stopped Adam and Eve because God knew what they were about to do. But God wanted them to have free will even though their course was already predetermined because God knew that they would not listen. So really we have will, but it is predetermined will, thus humans have no free will in a universe controlled by said Biblical God.
Moving on we come to Adam and Eve populating the Earth. I'm sure we've all heard how horrible it is to fuck say your sister or mother. My question then is, if two people are to populate the Earth...who are their children to fuck? Well of course, their parents and siblings. The Bible takes a nasty stance against incest, yet for the world to be populated, incest had to happen. So for a holy book that is God-breathed, it is awfully contradictory. Sounds like God is unable to make up its mind or that the Bible isn't really God-breathed at all, but man-made. I mean, why would God allow incestual relationships and then end them? Well either God isn't really infalliable or God is interpreted by humans and thus God might not actually exist beyond our plane of thought.
It is quite simple. Paradox's abound in the Bible, that's one of the reasons I have recoved from Christianity. Cuz, when God changes the Pharoah's mind, it shows a vengeful God who really isn't benevolent but more malevolent toward people that God dislikes. Which mean the Biblical God really is just man-made.

Hmmm... interesting. You know I have questioned the bible like that as well. And as I am not that educated with the bible I don't want to start a discussion that would put me into trouble. I will do some research and get back to you though.
"In a world where we all can't make up our minds, we are definitely too sure of ourselves."
J for the juicy truth
the thought of God or anybody "breathing" out page after page is just to funny not to chuckle at. but i am not a christian nor have i read the bible. if i wanted stories about good moral fibers i would go to the childrens section in the video store. but the porn section is much more intrigueing! XD~}chatiks si chatiks{~
I agree...besides I think God has better things to do. Indeed it is much more intriguing, but I prefer the real thing to the video, but that's just me, lol.
Man- made book of God? Yea, I never got that. The bible is edited every day. I'm sure back when the deciples wrote it they didn't include color pictures and they didn't refer to Palastine as Isreal.
I'm a Christian but... idk, the bible is sketchy to me.
