This story really got me goin. A set of polar bear twins was born in captivity in the Berlin zoo in December. The mother abandoned them both, as sometimes happens with multiple births, so they were handraised....one died, but the other is still living, and is all over the media over in Germany.
Animal activist Frank Albrecht thinks that the zoo should kill this little baby bear.
"Feeding by hand is not species-appropriate but a gross violation of animal protection laws." Who is he to decide who lives and dies? This is an endangered species we are talking about !!! The bear already had interaction with people...it was born in a zoo, for cryin out loud. It is sick to think that this man associates killing animals with their rights. Animals have the right to LIVE...not be killed! Polar bears are endangered species, and any male that will be able to breed should be kept alive as a stud and used to add genetic diversity to further the species and bring them off the endangered species list. These people that want to kill the baby should go get a reality check.

An animal activist thinks the bear should be killed!? That doesnt make much sense... The baby was abandoned by his mother! He doesnt have anyone but the humans caring for him... those are his parents.
i KNOW, i was shocked too. Apparently dying is better than being raised by human, even in the case of a species that is on and off the endangered list. people suck.
Hug a musician, they never get to dance.
You can help save the Polar Bears. There is a url to link you to a petition to place Polar Bears on the Threatened Species List. No animal deserves to die let alone be destroyed. This cub should be saved irregardless of gender or natures intentions to let it die. This species is looking at losing its habitat within the next 50 years.
