STEPHEN T. COLBERT ( the T is for truthiness) IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!
... well, in the South Carolina Primaries any way. But this is HUGETASTIC !!!!!!!!!! Honestly, my last blog was just a big rant about how I didn't know who to vote for, and how I didn't agree with any of the candidates, and wah wah wah... but this is the answer to all of my questions and MORE!
First, let me state that I was one of the first hundred or so members of the Facebook group "1,000,000 strong for Stephen T Colbert", one of if not THE fastest growing Facebook group EVER! I have been rallying support, advertising, forcing my freinds to the threat of violence to join this group, because of how strongly I agree with COLBERT '08!!! Let me just break it down. Here is the important stuff: Some people are trying to say that Colbert is a democrat, and that he mocks republicans on his show. He hates the current system, and is against everything republican. They think he is a Democrat. He is not. Colbert is Republicrat. A republican democrat. He is simultaneuously both and neither!!! The significance of this is that he has no obligations to please anybody, or to let some system over power his own decisions. The only corporate sponsorship he has to "repay" upon winning would be Comedy Central, and I HIGHLY doubt they have any political agendas!
Now, some people are doubting Colbert becuase they say he has no clue how to work in politics. This is one of the reasons I want to vote for him! His judgements, his decisions, his whole style will be natural, human, as close to the average American as we have seen yet! I have seen his (or his writers) oppinions on his show. Not necessarily through what he says, but by what he does NOT satire on the show. He holds certain topics to be unblasphemed. He knows what he is doing. Not just the comedian out to get a cheap laugh, but the wise and knowledgeable man is he!

Stephen Colbert LOVES America, and will fight ANYONE who disagrees it is the greatest place on earth. That is what I want in my president. Oh, and even though this only matters to a small percentage of people, Colbert WAS raised Roman Catholic! THAT MEANS SOMETHING TO ME!!!

The show is improve and Colbert is a character. The man that plays Colbert has opinions very different from his alter-ego.
At any rate, I don't think Colbert would make a good president. Too right wing for me.

I don't think he's ACTUALLY running, though. But I will still continue to wear my Stewart/Colbert '08 shirt. Anything will be better than Clinton or Guiliani or Obama or Thompson.

Wait, so Colbert is running as a Republican or a Democrat? Are you sure he really is running? Even CNN doesn't have his name as one of the Presidential Candidate. Another person who people are hoping to run is Al Gore ever since he won the Nobel Peace Prize and all...lol
This blog is very interesting. I wonder if people would actually vote for him. If I was old enough and if I was a citizen, I'll see what his positions are. I just hope he isn't taking the White House because people love watching his show. Sponsor from Comedy Central..l interesting indeed.

well, the previously mentioned facebook group is at 127,000 in 4 days. and its still rising 3-5 new members every SECOND!!!
And this is all for people who are going to write in his name at there own state primaries, since he is only running in SC.
I asked the starter of the group, and he agreed that once we hit 1,000,000 we will send a petition to Colbert to run in every state!!!!!
