College Board Screwed up the SAT scores

Tagged:  •    •

Some of you might have already hear about the error that College Board made with the SAT scores from October.  Scores can be up to 100 points lower than what they should be.  I has taken then 5 months to come out with this error.  This is a big deal because that is an important SAT score for students to send to colleges.  In some cases 100 points could be the difference between being accepted or rejected.  College board has to resend the SAT scores to colleges who would then have to review their applications.  It is not something that they want to deal with, nor should the error have been kept a secret for so long.  I personally would not mind getting a 100 points higher.  But it is such an inconvience to everyone and really not fair at all.

The collegeboard apparently e-mailed everyone affected (about 4000 kids, or .8% of testtakers.)

A "snail mail" notification will also be sent.

Thank goodness I got my SATs done years back. I can't imagine how horrible it would be to stress about studying, then stress while taking them, then stress about how I did, and then find out that the CB had screwed it up. I hope someone sues.

(Wow, I sound so pathetically American; gratuitous litigation really is eveerywhere, isn't it?)

it wouldnt be fair if you guys got 100 points more. that seems kinda unfair. but they should def get some compensation.
