An article was posted stating that the British are making leaps and bound in stem-cell research, especially in comparison to the scramble over the stem-cell controversy following Bush's decision to stop federal funding on stem-cell research. By leaving stem-cell research to private funding, the government forces researches to take two steps backwards as opposed to forward. Now we have multiple researches working toward the same goal, but not together. And that is the key problem. Although stem-cell research can have many benefits, these benefits are becoming hindered because there isn't much communication between the various researchers, so each is in his/her own race. The lack of fundign undermines the efforts of researchers who understand the benefit stem-cells hold.

So we should just fund two different private stem cell researching companies so they can research the same thing at the same time faster. If stem cell research were that great, we wouldn't need to finance it.
"If stem cell research were that great, we wouldn't need to finance it."
That is one of the most illogical arguments that I've ever heard.
Stem cell research is one of the most promising aspects of medicine right now, but that doesn't mean that there is enough money to fund it. Money doesn't just flow to great ideas because they're great.
