Possible American trade with cuba?

On Tuesday, Fidel Castro resigned as preseident of Cuban; his successor is his brother Raul Castro. What does this mean for the country of Cuba? Well this could either make or break Cuba's future as well as the United States economy.
What do I mean by economics? Well, Cuba has always been a command economy in which the government controls everything from food intake to mass media in Cuba, basically everything. This was all implemented by Fidel Castro, therefore, who's to say it will these socialistic ideals will still be in tact in a few years? I believe either Raul Castro will be worse than Castro or a saving grace to the cuban people.
As Cuba is a command ecnomoy as stated above, it is possible for Raul to realize the possible economic improvements to be done. President Bush stated that "this could open Cuba's trade market." If Raul Castro were to decide to open the cuban markets, Cuba's people would have more benefits. The cuban economy would go through a dramatic shift; this could also behoove America. If Cuba allows for the United States to trade with them, The U.S. could import tobacco and sugar cane while while exporting either cash or necessary goods to help fund Cuba's way of life. This could also lead to Cuba once again being known for it's tourism. Cuba has impeccable beaches in which American cruise lines could go and visit which would in turn bring more tourism to Cuba. This possible tourism could lead to more restaurants being built and all the businessses to thrive.
Raul Castro could also try to leave a "legacy". He might want to leave an impression on the Cuban people and quite possibly the world. He won't want to be known for being Fidel Castro's brother, so he could implement harsher laws. Hopefully, however this is not the case and he will open his eyes to possible advancement of his country and not degradation of it.

Let me know what u think!
