pumping away pennies

I have a job, granted be it that it's only minimum wage and part time. but I should be able to save some kind of money. but lately I feel like the economy is sucking money right out of my pocket, especially for fuel.

It's bad enough that my puppy passed away last week, for him I didn't mind spending $290 for his cremation services and urn, but I used nearly $25-30 in gas to drive an hour and fifteen minutes there and an hour and fifteen minutes back. And in the same week I must have spent another $15-20 to drive to work and back, and $20 to drive to school and back for two days. Costs me about $6 a week to drive my brother to school and back, and the school is only 2 miles down the road. So that's 4 miles in the morning and 4 miles in the afternoon almost every day of the week. Today alone I had to put in $15 to drive to Southland Mall and back not including the gas I had already gotten yesterday so I could go to school today. Then I spent almost $50 there for my brother's birthday presents. I can barely afford to buy food yet I have to.

I can't wait until summer comes. Even if I'm taking classes, I won't be spending as much money because the only other place I plan on driving is to work. My boyfriend has a tandem bicycle and we use that to go to the store or to go anywhere that we NEED to, and it's also transportation for him to my house. I save alot of gas during the summer because we can take that bike almost anywhere.

I have to go to class right now actually. If any of you are having frustration about gas prices, or money spending leave a comment or message me. Or if you have a neat way that you save gas and money feel free to share! :) :)

Yeah, spending money sucks, but we have to in order to get by. The only other real option is communism. As for gas prices, maybe you could look into a bike yourself, at least until we have some better type of fuel available for mass use. Also, try getting a better job that pays above minimum wage.

Yes. I really know what you mean ! Gas prices go up.It seems that food and retail prices go up to. Now what is sad is I am a Lead Teller at a bank and I am even pinching pennies.I remember a time where it only took $20.00 to fill up my tank and now it takes $30.00. Trust me when I say that hurts. Then I have a little baby and her needs never expire so I find myself going into her savings and my savings to get her stuff or pay for a bill. Sorry about your dog.Middle class economy and below have to face these hardships and boy they are hard.Rich people say oh its just a few pennies more. I remember when I was a kid gas prices were 99 cents a gallon . Who knew back them that we had it made. If we would have known that gas prices were going to shoot up like that then everyone would have bought so many containers to fill gas up with for future use. All the gas stations would be running dry constantly.Nice blog though. I just hope who ever wins presidency can help us with some of these high expenses.

Am sorry about your dog. Understand the issue of gas. I felt like a heel this week. My cousins husband died in a horrific car accident this week, and all the family had to join for support. I live in poe dunk Mo about a 100 mile drive from the city. It cost me about 50 dollars to drive up there to be supportive. This is not counting having to eat.
I felt bad for my cousins loss, but now we are going to have an issue eating becauseI still had to have gas to get to work this week. Its not right to have to choose like that.
