This world we live in is filled with uncertainty. It is so easy to find the negative aspects of someone's surroundings but we can never seem to find the diamond in the rough. We often point fingers and judge eachother by appearance alone and forget that some of the great leaders of this nation and this world were raised in poverty and fought for what they believe in.
We are the people who strugle everyday to make sure our children have food, shelter and clothing so they can live healthy lives. We work the "grave-yard shifts", long overtime days, 9 to 5's and etc. to ensure that our future holds the torch to a pure light. While working these hours we work in conditions that most would scoff at. Without us there would be no middle. We are the pillar between the rich and the absolute poor. We hold up all the weight between.
As highschool students we work in retail stores and as cashiers. Sometimes as young men and women we are blessed with children early. We are taxed the highest, our landlords are unforgiving and the law is no longer here to just "serve and protect". So sure we love to get bent on the weekends and party because this is the life we live. Right in the middle where things are the most difficult.
Well we all have the right to protect ourselves but when can we ever have the 100% percent right to protect ourselves? Probably will never happen as the law only gives us 95% to protect ourselves. Are we better off that way? Most say we need the law to provide a sense of security and others believe religion offers us this choice already. So in some ways we need both to maintain stability amongst minorities and others.

The laws will never be 100% because not all people enforcing them are good people. Some cops are understanding and really there to serve the people, others are power hungry and abuse their authority. But in this class, you have an opportunity to work up and get out. It's not the easiest but that's why it has the people who are the strongest and can get up and out.
