vote?

So I will be eight-teen by the time the next presidential election rolls around. I am really excited for it but it got me thinking. A lot of people my age who I work with, go to school with, play sports with … most of them don’t even think about what is going on outside of school or the mall. It is scary to think that they will have an opportunity to choose who will change and shape our country next. My parents are very into politics so I know about the candidates and I have been learning about what they stand for so I will know who to vote for. I believe in what MTV tried to start with the “VOTE OR DIE” because in a way if you do not vote you are handing your life and your future over to a stranger; someone you chose not to learn anything about. I would never make that choice because I want to be in charge of my life. It just worries me sometimes that these people who will because this countries future do not know anything about what this country has gone through, or the current events. They know the general information, we are in a war. But not how we got to this war? Why we are still there? What progress we have made? I guess all I can do is get interested and try to chose who I think will make a difference as president and first not base it on color or gender but merely on what they will be able to do to bring our country back together. And furthermore, help bring the world back together.
