I’ve noticed that people from other countries tend to look down on
America. I’ve heard many reasons from the choices our government makes to how low our morality is. But every time I hear a discussion like that it seems like it is jealousy.
I know some people that hate
America but if they had a chance to come here and live they would take it. Why is that? I don’t understand. I mean if you hate a place then why would you want to be here. I have also noticed that they think down on us from what our government does. I mean just because the government makes a “stupid” decision in their eyes does not mean that the people of
America are stupid. That is prejudice to us American citizens as a whole.
But if it wasn’t from
America, countries like
Japan and
China would have never prospered. Let’s face it
Japan and
China are the technological power houses of the world but who was the one to start the technology.
America was. Computers and the internet itself were started here in
America. The same computers and internet that is used around the world. If it wasn’t from
America being here the world wouldn’t be the way it is today. The technology would not be here or anything. The first automobile, airplane, electricity, computers, and internet were started here in
America. Why hate us when we make your way of life the way it is?
I also dislike the foreign people that down talk
America when they really have no idea what is going on here. Most of them never stepped foot on American soil so they have no right to talk about
America the way they do. I just think all anti American hate is based off of jealousy and nothing else. They just cloak it with other excuses.
Now I guarantee I will have comments about how I’m flaunting
America and how good life is but I’m just pointing out the truth.



A little American Biasiness thrown into you post, I see. After America Bombed Japan, America did help them, the best way America does, and that is by imposing America's values upon them. Bringing them into America's civilization. I have a problem with America because we impose our values on people that do not want to be Americanized. America has done some great things but America has also done some the most horrible things in human history.
Also saying that certain technology would not exist is hypothetical, and you have no proof...

Computers were started by IBM, Microsoft was started by Bill Gates, the Automobile was made by Henry Ford, the airplane was made by the Wright brothers, the electricity was made/harnessed by Thomas Edison...all who were Americans in which these modern days inventions were made on American soil. It is all part of our history.
And I agree we do impose our way of life on people but it is their choice. Either lay in ruins and try to rebuild yourself or take a helping hand in which will impose a few things on you. Apparently America must be doing something right because we are the richest nation in the world.
It's not like everyone in the world is just dying to be able to live in America, so I don't see how it could be jealousy. Many people don't like America because they feel Americans don't have very good values. There is also the "rude American" stereotype, for example, American tourists going to another country and complaining they can't find someone who speaks English.
I agree people shouldn't stereotype Americans just like Americans shouldn't steteotype people of other nations. Yes many great inventions came from America (some of them invented by immigrants!) but America has also done horrible things too which you failed to mention.
At the time of some of the inventions everyone was an immigrant. And the reason I didn't mention the horrible things America has done is because everyone else keeps bringing them up. There is not one country out there that hasn't done somthing horrible in their history.
Why does EVERYONE have to want something for it to be what things are about? He never said EVERYONE in the world was 'just dying to be able to ilve in america' I see that a lot on this site, people act like EVERYONE has to agree to it for it to be right.
What ever happened to the Golden Rule of treat others how you want to be treated?

American people and American culture tend to be relatively popular abroad, it is the American GOVERNMENT that inspires ire. Hell, Hollywood movies are the last product produced in the US that can't be made cheaper in China, India, or Central America. Our Government, however, has a nasty habit of holding the world to a double standard- one rule for the US and our allies and another for everyone else. Our government lectures the world about human rights, then tortures prisoners in CIA "black sites". Our government preaches nuclear nonproliferation, but maintains the largest arsenal of nuclear arms in the world. We extol the virtues of Democracy while providing arms and aid to dictatorships all over the world. It is not that there is anything uniquely corrupt or evil about the United States. It is simply that since we are the sole superpower, all of our actions will be scrutinized more closely, and will have a wider impact. We often tend to seem somewhat hypocritical- given the discrepancy between the lofty ideals we extol and our actual behavoir. You can't have your cake and eat it too- those who refer to the US as "The Greatest Country in the World", shouldn't be suprised to be met with skepticism and resentment. A little humility and equity when it comes to dealing with the rest of the world would work wonders for our image abroad, in my view. Sorry for my longwindedness.
But being a patriot doesn't mean turning a blind eye to the faults and failures of that country. If we as a country have acted poorly, then we deserve a little dogging, in my humble opinion.
But it is important for Americans I think, to remember that we are ALL a part of this country. Even if you aren't a member of the dominant party, you STILL played a small part in anything and everything that our government does.
Every time you fail to vote... Every time you fill up your car with gas... Every time you buy a product produced by child labor in some third world country... We all contribute in small ways to the policies of our leaders. The only way to fix the problem is to own your part of it, and work...really work for changes that reflect the way you think our country should be.

i agree that people from other countries look down on the U.S. because of the government, so, therefore, they look down on its people. Just because our country is a superpower that has helped other countries develop and advance maybe too intrudingly, doesn't mean that it should be hated.
The only thing that confused me about you blog is that you say foreigner hate this country because they're jealous. If they were jealous, then why would they come here to help better and contribute to the United States' prosperous economy?
Well, you should try to remember that Americans are worse for we do tend to think that we are the top nation in the world. But no matter what, America is behind in MANY ways to other countries. We have the WORST crime rate, bad government, and you have to admit... We have so VERY stupid people. I would say, you should watch Mind of Mencia. (Not totally sure if I spelled that right) But he is very good about saying the things that need to be said.

The funniest thing is that everyone is always going on about how the American propaganda machine does this, does that...have you noticed that anti-Americanism is the most popular propaganda out there? American bashing is a big hit.

This country was founded by men who said things like 'Give me liberty or give me death'- and meant it. Just imagine that. it's beautiful. With all the mistakes made, the heart of this country is still beautiful and noble, and I do not feel that American patriotism is antiquated ignorance.
