Yesterday I was at work and I happened to be working in the fitting room with another employee named Laura. We were in the middle of folding clothes and answering phone calls when all of a sudden we see a 30-40 year old woman rush out of the fitting room, hand us 20 pairs of clothes, and leave.
She looked as if she was in a hurry and it seemed very suspicious. Especially since neither of us remembered handing her a number, and she came speed walking out of the MENS fitting rooms.
So, Laura went ahead and looked in the fitting room that the lady had ran out of and it wasn't a suprise to see the things that Laura found. She found things like tags, broken plastic, and empty cases of objects from Cosmetics.
Now my question is why would an adult like that need to steal things like eye liner, an alarm clock, lip gloss, earings, and etc? I mean its really ridiculous, especially since the eye liner was only 99 cents. You could easily find that amount of change on the ground or behind a couch at home. Come on now be real.
However, maybe she is just addicted to stealing things, and its become a bad habbit. But why start to begin with? Why put yourself in that predicament when you really don't need to. Everyone else pays for the things that they desire, so you should do it to. Dont stoop so low just to get the things you want/need.

I have worked in retail for over 5 years and have seen a lot of shrink(unexplained loss including theft, damaged product, used product, instore theft,etc.). In many cases of theft, there are systems of 'organized crime'- people in typically in larger groups will plain and execute their plains of theft. Then there are people who get a high from taking items that don't belong to them and seeing if they get caught-trying to 'out smart' the department store security. You have people who do it out of what they feel is a necessity, to provide for their family. I am not saying that it is okay, it is definitly not, but in some of the people who are doing the actions, they feel as if is the ony thing they can do they have run out of chocies, others feel as if they are owed this and it is theirs, other just feel an emotional hig and they 'must' do this to obtain that emotion that the desire. I am taking classes toward my Psychology degree and I feel that theft definitly has Psychological Reasoning. They do not care if it is wrong, they have no concern of belonging and do not wish to learn the difference, these people should be treated and punished for their actions!
Simple. If you can get things for free, then why not.
I know that the 'addicts' steal for the adrenaline rush. Other people, I assume it's because they're poor.
