2008 Elections

So, our 2008 Presidential Election is growing nearer and nearer and I've began to worry.
I'm not too sure who I'm going to vote for.
In Reality none of our candidates this year were qualified or had enough experience to be president and I don't think any of them will that bang up of a job. However, because I can't not vote, I have to pick someone! This is going to be the first time in my life that I'll be eligable to vote and I'm NOT missing out on it!
We have four runners up left. For the Democratic Party there's Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Ugh. Republican wise, there's John McCain and Mike Huckabee. Meh. Hillary Clinton has NO chance of winning or even getting on the ballot and I admire her perseverance but get a good giggle out of the thought that she actually thought she'd make it to the white house. I mean, come on, this is AMERICA...run by men. There ARE more men in this world and I doubt less than 75% of them would allow Hillary to get into the white house.
Obama is a good candidate but I think he lacks the necessary mentality to be a president. This whole-- "Oprah loves me" bit is just pathetic and I believe it was a jump towards getting the women's votes and taking them away from Hillary. However, I AM a woman and wasn't EVER planning on voting for her so.... i dunno.
I'm a republican, so my vote will most likely go to a republican candidate and out of the two that are left.... McCain has my vote.

It's wayyyyy to creepy to vote for Huckabee because, to me, he bears a strong resembelence to Joseph McCarthy...you know the dude who started the whole McCarthyism "communists in our government" uproar back in the sixties.
No joke. Go look up a picture of that dude,
then look at a picture of Huckabee.
The resembelance is uncanny!

But yeah...

I hope I'm
not the only person in this country
who's dissatisfied with the election ticket...

Ok, but why don't you vote on the issues? Not on their elect-ability but on what they stand for? There may be more men in the world, but there are more women in this country. Not that I'm defending Hillary necessarily, but that's not really a reliable reason for not voting for her. Anyway, there's not going to be one candidate who stands out at this point. They're all human, first of all. They're all politicians, second of all.

I DO vote on their stance on the issues but none of their stances sastifies me. I've spent hours on line reading their speeches and things they've said but I just haven't been sastified with the things any of them have said. ESPECIALLY Hillary. With this most recent debate she participated in with Obama she couldn't control her temper and lashed out at him. Women are naturally offensive, and because Obama had recently been trash talking her and she took her debate as an opportunity to "get revenge" and you can't do that in polotics. People are ALWAYS going to trash talk you and if you can't take it, then you aren't going to do well in office.
Immigration is my biggest concern and I feel that none of candidates are taking a firm enough stance on it. Something needs to be done to stop Illegal Immgration and I've read their proposed plans and they just don't make the cut in my opinion.
I'm really torn about what to do. I wish they would just stand up and say, "Hey! This is who I am and THIS is what I believe!"
Go to cnn.com and read their stances. It's ridiculous. None of them give gays couples the rights they deserve and are rightly entitled to. My elder brother can't even marry the love of his life because they're both men. It's ridiculous and the future leaders of our country aren't going to do a thing about it,
I have to try to pick one who'll at least get the country closer to where it SHOULD be.

I understand where you're coming from, but this election isn't that unique. I don't think there will be a perfect candidate that you agree with exactly on all of the issues.

i wont be old enough to vote but even if i could, i still wouldnt know who to vote for because there's not really a candidate that sticks out. they kind of all suck for once. i personally dont think hillary will get elected because we arent ready for a woman to be president
