Being a Senior in High School, I've come to realization: High School is Reality yet a dream as well. It's amazing at how kids involve so much of thier time into school dances and rallys, ad the biggest one: Prom. I don't want to sound like i am speaking of this because i don't do these things, but i have seen what its all about and i would rather focus on things that really matter to me.
As i was sitting in class the other day, i turned around and caught a glance of a girls notebook with writing and numbers. I asked her what it was, but as i could clearly see it was a money budget for the school prom. $400 for a dress that would probably be worn once, $150 dollars for hair to be done or weaved, the list went on and on as i was laughing because i thought that it was hilariously funny that someone would spend all that money for a dance that has been portrayed as the ultmate event the peak of the year. Now if your a women please send me a message that states why this is because i cant understand. Anyways I thought, "Man so many other people do this exact thing, i bet i could use that same money and use it on something that reall would create a steping point or a pinnicle in my life than on one event in life. I think that in school, there is no problem with spending some money and doing these activities, but for others it's there life.
Ive heard in the past of story's that when people were all about the highschool years and thats there life, when they get out they become depressed, sad, missing it when they are blindfolded of the future that lies beyond. Suicide attemptss because thats the only life they had i feel isn't worth the time. This i know however isn't true for everyone.
So there is some "reality" to highschool such as preparing you of what life outside is like and how to survive, but when your stuck in that "dream' it becomes dangerous and hostile. Realize that there is more for all out there!
HighSchool! Reality or Dream?

Well, you do only have one senior prom. It's just like preparing for a wedding. It's like a rite of passage.
When I was in high school, I wasn't allowed to go to my senior prom and personally, I wish I would have had the experience. I guess the prom is a big deal because of what it represents - the last school dance of your high school career. It's kind of like a celebration to adulthood.
it could all depend on what school you go to, but i could go to my prom if i want to, but your right, the prom is a big deal because of what it represents- but i think the celebration of adulthood begins once your out of high school!
