By the United States Constitution, all citizens of America who are 18 years old or older can vote. But in this upcoming election, there will be millions of illegal immigrants who vote, let me remind you illegally. They are able to do this because when registering to vote, proof of citizenship is not required. Only a vow that the person is a citizen is needed. Well, people will lie.
This needs to immediately stop. Voter registration reform is not a political issue. It is a legal issue. For the good of America, we need to make sure that only people who are allowed to vote actually vote. Proof of citizenship should be required when registering to vote. Not requiring proof of citizenship is like not requiring ID from a young person who is buying beer. People complain that requiring proof will deter people from registering to vote. That claim is wrong. People who know how important voting is will make the little effort to bring with them proof of citizenship when registering. The people that will be deterred are illegal immigrants.
The only reason that this reform is not being passed is that some of the members of the party that illegals tend to support want the illegal votes. This reform has nothing to do with immigration reform. It has to do with maintaining the credibility and legitimacy of our democracy.
