February 14th is a day that many people dread. Just knowing that pink and red ballons, flowers and cards are going to be surrounding you all day makes this day annoying. And yes, some will admit that it is a great day to show your loved one you care, but shouldn't you show them everyday?
In my eyes, Valentine's Day should be SIngle Awareness Day. I mean, eveyone gets somethingfrom their special someone, unless of course, they don't exist. You may say, "My mom gives me flowers," or "My family goes out to eat," but is it that meaningful?
Shouldn't families and significant other show their love for each other everyday, not just on the fourteenth of Februrary? Is it that hard to kiss your family goodnight and say I love you. In today's society this four letter word "love" gets thrown around like a dodgeball. But its never said to the right people. We need to take advantage of the time that we have with the people that we actually love, and show them how much you love them every single day. Whether it be helping your mom by washing the dishes, or vaccuming the living room, every small detail counts. You don't have to go out and spend thirty dollars on a dozen of roses that are eventually going to die and a stuffed animal that is going to be thrown in the closet.
It's the small stuff that counts, so lets show each other how much we love each other.
I want to take this time to shoutout to my Mom, my number one. When I was younger, I never knew how much time and effort it took to be a mother, and though I am not a mother myself, I can see now that i'm older that it is very difficult. I thank you for all the times you've sacrificed yourself to do something for me. And I cherish every moment we spend together. I can't wait to see you on Sunday. I Love You!
Evee.
