So when you’re away at college, how often do you come home? There’s the usual Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break, but what about all the time in between. This is assuming that your college is not that far away from home, like me. It’s about an hour and a half. My older brother, who lives in an apartment in upper Manhattan, comes how every weekend; well he used to at first. It depends on what exams he has. He has to come home to get food and laundry which is why he comes home so often. That will not be the case with me. Last weekend my mom asked me how often I would come home and I was like I don’t know. The truth is I really don’t know; I really don’t know how often I will want to come home. How busy will I be? It all depends on what activities I choose to do and I plan on doing quite a few. Part of going away to college is to be away. There are times when I cannot wait to get away from this rotten island. How can I tell that to my mom; if she wants me to come home, how can I just say that I don’t feel like coming how? I’m sure I’ll get homesick for a little bit, but I’ll get over it.
How often do you come home when you're at college?

you will come a lot int eh beginning then it wears off
Let's hope it's not too bad. Some people come back to school to visit a lil too often.
Think about international students, who can only go home during summer holidays!
Yea....I feel bad for them. But what do you do for short breaks that are maybe a week long? Sometimes it's not worth it to go home.
I wont be visiting home, my boyfriend and I are getting an apartment by my college.
What about your parents? Is your boyfriend the only reason you would go home?
i come home when my parents say they wanna come up to my apartment. i tell them- "oh no its okay! ill come home!"
haha....nice
lol i go to Northern Illinois University! there is a nickname for my college, the suitcase college, because as soon as thusday hits, the loading lots become packed with people that don't have friday classes going home for the weekend.
for me (and i find this will dramatically change next year as all my freinds will be oddly enough going here, and my boyfriend will be able to visit me more than me visiting him) i go home for the most part every weekend, as i live a little under 2 hours away form here...but i don't go home home to my parents house. i go to my friends houses, and mostly my boyfriends house. and the reason i go home is usually because we all have something fun planed to do. so it's not like i'm going home just to go home. and last weekend i stayed here. this weekend i have a dentist app. and a dress app. for my maid od honor dress for my sis's wedding.

I'm an hour and a half away from home and I don't really go home. If I want something my parents will come by and drop it for me. I usually have nothing to do if I go home.
But I haven't been home since the begining of January, I do miss home sometimes but I like being at school.

Same here. I cant wait for spring break next week. It seemed so far away and now it's so close.
Depending on the distance I am currently living in Alaska so my vacation depends on my finacial situation. I am going home for the first time in a year and 8 months for Spring Break. Its nice to get away from home because it makes it so much better when you do get to go home.
Wow that's a long time. What are you doing in Alaska?
Living across country prohibits me from visiting often! Id have to take off school and work AND spend $400 on a plane ticket, other than the usual holidays. Naaaah.
