Voting

In my government class we have been learning about our nations government. More to the point, we have been learning about voting. I do not vote, I am not old enough to. She goes on about how we can only complain about our elected officials if we are the ones the voted. I agree with that. If an elected official does poorly in office, only those who voted should have the right to complain about the actions in office and pick out their falts. Since the people who did not did not put in their vote to change their community, they have no say in it. If a person votes they can say "well I did not vote for them, I wanted the other canidate," or "what a screw up they are." I hope the point I am trying to make got across. If you did not get it, do not put in a comment telling me I am wrong or have no clue what I am talking about. It is just a post, do not think to much into it.

Someone else posted a blog about this yesterday I think, and I understand if you voted for the person, you can't complain that they're doing poorly... but I don't understand how you can say we don't have the right to complain because we don't have the right to vote. That's absurd. If we get taxed and get affected by every decision the government makes, we should have the right to vote. Since we don't, at the very least, we have the right to complain when the government does stupid things. It's not that we didn't attempt to change it; we weren't even allowed.

People who are too young to vote should be allowed to complain because these decisions still affect them. I complain about Bush and I was not allowed to vote in the last election. And even if someone didn't vote, they can still complain. It may be a bit hypocritical, but if something negatively affects someone, of course they will complain. I understand where you are coming from though.
