Without a doubt, Britney Spears is the main opic of all the Gossip magazines and television shows. At first I was with everyone else thinking, "This girl is nuts!", but now after seeing so many videos and articles where the paparazzi is overwhelming and downright suffocating the girl, I now feel a bit differently.
Don't get me wrong, these stars should understand that they are choosing to put themselves in the limelight therefore making themselves a target, but whatever happen to personal space? It seems that some of these crazed photographers don't understand that people are people and they deserve the same privacy as everyone else.
When Princess Diana died in that horrible wreck, the paparazzi was chasing her limo, therefore making it a dangerous scene from the beginning. If you ask me, I think those photographers should have been charged with something. I can't count the times that I've been cut of by crazy drivers or had to slam on brakes because the people in front of me do not understand what their blinker is for. I can't even imagine being chased through a tunnel, of all places, all for the sake of a picture. Absolutely ridiculous!
In a video on YouTube, Britney Spears was trying to order in the drive-thru, but there were so many photographers around her vehicle that it was impossible to even order, so one of the photographers took it upon himself to order for Ms. Spears. http://www.tmz.com/2007/10/07/britney-and-sis-run-for-the-border/
I'm in no way at all a "Chris Crocker", (http://youtube.com/watch?v=kHmvkRoEowc)
but come on people back off and allow these celebrities to live, breathe and quit putting themselves and celebrities in risk of dangerous situations.
I would honestly lose my mind if I always had a few dozen photographers following me around and snapping pics of my each and every move. That would be horrendous. I really believe that there should be a line that the paparazzi can not cross. There should be consequences to their actions. The government should pass some kind of law that protects the rights of people regardless of their status in life and who they are. Regardless they are still people and they still have rights.
With all that said, I have to leave a little note to these celebs. Please don't draw attention to yourself by choosing not to wear undergarments or by doing any action which might cause you to be "The Next Paparazzi Target".

i think the paparazzo are so crazy because they think since the person is famous, we should know their every move. Diana was killed because she didnt like being in the spotlight and an overzealous paparazzo made her car crash into the tunnel. Nowadays people are targeted for the wrong things. Jamie Lynn is pregnant, Britney has lost her kids, Jen and Angie get in a fight, whatever. Their human, they're not perfect.

I completely agree with you. We do not need to know their every step and breath. I would much rather hear about thins that we as a nation need to change or remedy. Take pictures of the homeless and let them share their stories so people will take as big of an interest as they do in Ms. Spears.
I do not need to know that Lindsay Lohan had 3 cappucinos on Thursday. I would rather know how the AIDS epidemic in Africa is being handled.
What is really wrong with society?.
