As a Senior in high school, I got my senior class ring last year and I tell you what, it was not a pretty sight when my mom got the bill every month, my ring was $305.00 and it wasn't even what I wanted!! It was later that I learned, Wal-mart does class rings also! So I thought I would do a little bit of research and see which place is better to go tofor a class ring.... I will compare the same exact ring between each place and see which one costs less and makes more sense to buy....
Josten's
Royale (A12)
| US$ 330.95 |
That price is not including any add-ons or anything else you want on your high school class ring.
Wal-Mart
This is a very similar ring sold at Walmart.
$249.82 (That's with any kind of personalization you want and everything included, 10 K white gold)
Isn't it crazy how you can go to Wal-Mart and get a ring with everything and anything you want on it except the name jostens on a cheap little black ring box? Sure, you couldn't do the ring ceremony, but who really wants to get all dressed up and do thast? The other thing is with Wal-Mart, it's right down the street, jostens is in another part of town. It really makes me mad that I could have had a ring I ACTUALLY wanted for less money than a ring i don't really even like. The other thing about jostens design a side thing is that if that particular ring style doesn't have the symbol you want, you can't get the ymbol, you have to pick one that goes with that ring style! So, lovelies go to Wal-Mart and get the same thing for a lesser price.
Thanks For listening =) This has been blogging with Caity =)

My high school did rings sophomore year. They came to the school and handed out catalogs. I'm not sure if there was a ceremony or not. Of course, that's because my family is a bunch of cheapskates and gets everything at WalMart anyway, and we just waited another year to get it.
That's Funny, it just bothers me that Jostens over charges so much when you can get something better @ Wal-Mart for less money! Thank you for reading and commenting, it really means a lot to me.
Caity =)
You're welcome. My only problem was that the person taking the order put down as my size the smallest sizing ring she could jam on my finger, so we had to take it back, wait a month, and pay $30 to get it resized, because we waited too long.
That's Really ridiculous, my ring is too big.
I didn't know Wal-Mart creates class rings.
Read my blog!
Oh, they have nearly everything.
I don't need drugs - I have genetics.
that's my store, I shop there because I'm poor.
Anyways,
I got my ring there, and I never wear it anymore. Once you get a little older, you'll want to wear rings from your signif. other, college ring, or nicer jewelry, and you'll quit wearing it. Chances are, your fingers will get too fat for it anyways. It happens to the best of us. I still take my ring out and look at it, and it holds just as many memories as its twice-as-expensive Jostens cousin. I am still glad I didn't spend so much on something I only wore for 1.5 years.
As for the ceremony, could you do it with the Wal Mart ring, or with a different ring but still participating?

Check it out...it's a work in progress.
I lost my high school ring in college. My college ring has my (former) married name initials on it. I never wear it. 3 yrs ago, I bought my boyfriend, a retiring teacher, and my former teacher, a school ring from the school he taught at for 40 yrs. I bought it from Jostens. I went to Wal-mart and checked various on line resources for schools rings. I chose Jostens as they had the best options for what I needed. It was not cheap but they did customizing that I didn't think was available. The ring needed sized and was sent back to Jostens in Texas (?) When sent back it was lost in the mail. Or stolen? Anyway, Jostens replaced it at no cost to us. My boyfriend loves it. He received many gifts when he retired but this is one he carries with him every day. We are planning on getting married soon. I am thinking of getting a matching school ring for my wedding ring. Jostens or WalMart- depends on who can best match what I want.
