Well, my school's homecoming was a few days ago and it was really weird. We used to have a lot of alumni come to the Homecoming dance and catch up with old friends that are still students at the school. This year because of the recent security issues at other schools around the country, our alumni couldn't come back. Each student at my school was entitled one guest that doesn't go to our school. I understand their reasoning, but what I don't get is why they are doing it now. Homecoming is supposed to be a time for alumni to come back and visit, not a time to keep them away from the school.

Ummm Homecoming is for the current students, not the alumnis. They have their reunions.

A lot of our alumni do come back for homecoming. It's common knowledge that any alumni band member can come back for the homecoming football game for free and play with the band. And a lot of the recently graduated alumni come back to meet up with old friends and go to the dance too...Until this year that is.
Hey, I didn't go to homecoming, and I'm beginning to be glad I didn't. I've heard from a lot of people today how bad it was.
When my parents first heard about homecoming my freshman year, they didn't even know there was a dance, they just thought it was this weird get-together for the alumni & current students . . .
I wondered, "What did you think it was?"
My friends that I was going to hang out with there were rear ended leaving the football game and ended up not staying at the dance for very long because of that and the fact that we had a marching band contest and three and a half hour bus ride early the next morning.
