What kind of world do we really live in? I can stand to watch the news because, god forbid, there might be a change in it.
The other night my friends and I were getting ready to go to a club and someone told me "oh be careful. they might poke you with a needle that has HIV on it". Now, in some cases, yeah, I will admit, I am a little gullible, but this has actually happened. So up my blood pressure goes and my paranoia begins. My friends and family know I am just one big balls of nervousness. I am scared to walk outside my house past 11 because my grandmother always told me I might be kidnapped. Because of this I go to the city next door to mine to exercise, and then drive back. I am scared to work at Burger King because it can be robbed at any moment. Please tell me am I being taken over by mass paranoia or is this just a weird way of being overly precautious?
Its just odd to me that there are so many horrific things in the world. How any one could just snap at any moment. How your home may not even be the safest place in the world.

You to take chance though. If you don't then you won't get anything done. I have generialized anxiety disorder so I know how you feel about constantly worrying. If you watch the news too much you will become a nervous wreck and not want to ventor out of your house again. Shut the news off. I would it is a good idea. These things happen, but you have to take risks you can't stay locked inside all your life.

I know I have to live life to the fullest. It would be ridiculous of me to put myself in a bubble ball in a matress covered rom with 5 different locks on the door. Its just sad how 50 years ago the world was considered a lot more wholesome than it is now. 12 year olds are having sex and some times even killing each other. Its a sad and scary thing we've come to. I don't think it could get any worse
I don't go out at night. I don't see a need in doing so. When I get my license lol. (I'm 20 long story) I will have my boyfriend drive if we ever have to at night. I will never drive alone at night and i don't like going out at night.
The world has gotten worse than it was 50 years ago. I agree on that as well. I understand how it makes you nervous, just don't let it destroy your life and take it over. You want to have fear and worry but not have fear and worry so bad that it takes over your life. i guess be more catious but do what you want to do.
I think it can get worse. Like I said turn off that news. I watched it for a week and thought I was going to have a heart attack. You click it on : " 2 kids die in a bus accident today." "a man is murdered while walking home." There is nothing good on the news, and there probably won't ever be. except when I saw my ex friend's ex boyfriend get arrested that was pretty funny!
I don't know why it has changed over the years to more crime I guess people are spiteful. Of course this doesn't give someone a reason, but the justice system doesn't work out for alot of people. Also parents aren't home with their children, they aren't raising them correctly or guiding them...

Yeah Dani is right . There are so many bad thinngs in the world going on, that it is kind of scary. It seems that everyday, someone is reported on the news dead due to brutal rape, murder , and I could go on and on forever. You just have to live life to the fullest because you never know when your last day is here on earth. You just have to be thankful that God woke you up today and and all those other days in the past. But I do understand where you are coming from. It does make you worry.
But try and watch less news,it reduces the worries sometime, can you imagine how many good things happen but they never show them?unfortunately, this is the world now and instead of waiting for a better one, enjoy the good moments you have now.

My sister and I won't go shopping alone after dark because of robberies of women in our town; I won't pull up parallel to a car at a red light, I still check the back of my car before I get in it, hold my keys in my hand on the way to the car so I can get to the panic button if I need too, check under handles of gas pumps for needles, won't let my nephews out of reaching distance if we're out... to me it's not so much worry as it is plain common sense.
I think the thing to remember is that you should be a little worried, but that you can't let it dictate your life. The world will never be completely safe... you could become infected with HIV in your own house, kidnapped from your own bedroom, robbed in your living room. Take what precautions you can, but remember that you can't let fear stand in the way of living your life or you will eventually become bound by it. Use common sense and you'll be okay.
