Going off to college can be a big deal if you’ve never really lived away from home. Thinking about it, there is so much that I have to buy to take with me that you don’t realize. It’s like wow, I have to take this and this oh and this. Everything’s right at your fingertips when you’re home. When you’re sick there’s always someone to take care of you. When you don’t feel well there’s someone to cook and do everything for you. That is a luxury that you don’t have when you’re away at college. While Philadelphia really isn’t that far from NYC, it’s a big change. I tell my mom it’s the same as driving to my older brother’s apartment in the city when there’s traffic, but it really isn’t. It’s not that far but far enough. While that is how I kind of wanted it to be it’s scary to think that I’ll be off on my own.
A big step....

you will love college trust me
I hope so. I can't wait.
I decided to move away to college also. I'm about 45 mins to an hour away from home so really i could go home every weekend if i wanted and ya it is kinda scary and a very big step but its different and you'll meet amazing new people and the freedom is a lot to take in. No ones around to tell you to do your homework or go to bed or you cant go out tonight... your free to do whatever you want whenever you want. and as great as it sounds it also means you really have to stop and think about what your gonna do... do that essay thats due in a few days or go out tonight and leave the essay for the last minute? It's a difficult responsibility but well worth it once you get settled in.
