This past week my husband and I realized we’ve closed ourselves to the confines of the familiar for two years. This weekend we decided to explore the roads in our town, after driving about 20 miles we found a secluded beach. We were so amazed at the hidden beauty we’ve missed all these months; it would have been nice to go there this summer. Today, we decided to follow Ocean Avenue and found Surf Beach and Ocean Park.
On Friday I went with a couple coworkers to pickup cake for an office party at Vons. Another kick in the ass, in the two years we’ve lived here it never occurred to us to go there. I totally felt so deprived, the supermarket was awesome the deli and pastry shops are by far the best in the area.
A little advice to everyone, make sure you explore your world. Explore your town, go out and drive the roads that lead to nowhere you never know what hidden beauty you’ll find. Try every store, restaurant, and supermarket, anything your town has to offer. There’s so much to discover in the tiniest places, just like Lompoc, California.
