A Nazi Found in U.S.

The United States Federal officials want to deport Paul Henss, an 85 years old living in Georgia, back to Germany. Paul used to be a guard and trained dogs at Nazi death camps. Because of his involvement with the Nazis, the Office of Special Investigations are trying to get him out of this country.

Is it really fair? Paul is pretty old and he can't possibly do any harm, right? He hasn't decided to fight for his rights to stay yet. But if more people know about it, they would want him gone too probably. I wonder why people still hunt down Nazis in the U.S. Even if they find some, what can they do about it besides deporting those ex-Nazis soldiers back to Germany? Would that really make everything right again?

What is a war crime anyway? I'm sure some of our U.S. soldiers have committed war crimes before. Yet, they're not being sent to another country. Death is common for war. In order to win or survive, you have to kill the enemy. It's pretty logical. Do they have rules for soldiers not to shoot the enemy in the head, and only the body? I'm just curious.

I am not supporting Nazis. It was horrible what they did. But at the same time, I can't help but think that many of the soldiers were being forced to act our their job. Maybe not ALL of them are bad people like many movies portrayed them as so. What if there are more Nazis still living in United States? Do we just keep on sending them back to Germany? Wouldn't that be saying we will not allow these people here so we're giving them to another nation. We will not allow holocaust to happen in America but we'll let it happen in another part of the world?

Here's the article I found:

This is rediculous, but I sadly do not expect any better from our country.

I've written a few blogs on Nazi's and the war.

Honestly, in a sense I can see where our government is coming from, but I do find it quite rediculous that they would try to deport an old man that will die in a few years anyways.

that seems a little silly to me.
he was a nazi, but that doesn't mean he can't be someone else.<3 liannalives.

"In order to win or survive, you have to kill the enemy."
Yeah, I agree with this, but MOST americans that have killed people in war were killing people who shot back. How are the jews an enemy?? What war did they start. Who did they kill or provoke. Those soldiers knew exactly what they were doing. I don't think that he should be allowed to stay here. It's a mockery of justice. Those people died in a country that hated them and were killed by someone unsympathetic enough to stand up for them. Obviously this man was one of them.

Um, so now that he's old he gets to essentially get away with murder? Just because that happened more than half a century ago, he gets to get away with it? he fled the country and fled his responsibilities! Being eighty-something doesn't get to erase his past.
It's not in our hands--when he's deported it'll be in Germany's hands for punishment--as it should be.
