Obesity in the U.S.A featuring commercials in the U.S.A

Whenever I listen to programs about how obese people are in America, I'm always upset. After that program I look at commercials about Mc Donalds and Burger-King... I swear these people want to kill us. Just go see for yourself. Every week there is something new at Mc Donalds or Burger King or Taco Bell and the sizes are getting bigger too. Whatever happened for us being responsible for ourselves and others. Its not only the people eating, but also the fast food places that watch our habits and provide that food for us by these commerials. Instead of saying I'm going on a diet just say I'm gonna cook home made and watch what I eat and what I watch on tv. If you look at a food commercial lease watch another channel, because you will get tempted!!!

I see nothing wrong with food providers (grocery stores, fast food chains or restaraunts) advertising what they have going on. It's like being compulsive in buying shoes and complaining everytime you see a BOGO ad for payless shoes or something. It's all about self control and knowing a limit. I believe a good number of Americans who are obese did it to themselves, be it they ate mc donalds 24/7 and did no exercise. It's unfair to blame the businesses just because parents think its easier to feed their kids greasy food rather than sit down and cook a meal.

But that's just my opinion.

I agree that fast food companies prioritize profit over common good, however this is a right that cannot be denied to them. Our country strongly promotes capitalism and "survival of the fittest," if you will, and to strip companies of their only foundation is to strip them of liberty. It is solely individuals who are responsible for their own weight. To me, anyone blaming McDonald's, Burger King, what have you, is only looking for a scapegoat for their own incapability to resist the temptation of food. The majority of people would agree that the woman who sued McDonald's because she burned herself from hot coffee was a bit ridiculous, but I believe this to be nearly the exact same concept.
