Hi, i am a co-manager of the PRior Lake School Store, other wise known as LAker Corner.
It is a work program class, the only problem is i dont get paid. Everyday i have a work seminar class with kids that will go out to their job sites after fourth hour. that is when ill have to go down to the store and work. ALll these other kids are being paid for their work while i just get the satisfaction of managing a store.
Everyday i stock, clean, sell merchandise, buy inventory, pick up orders, do deposits and see vendors while gettin paid absollutely nothing.
Is it really worth it?

I suppose I'm going to have to put my two cents in. Obviously, I can't simply sit on the sidelines and not stick my nose in your business.
Personally, I think that working for nothing is a great experience. Of course, working for money is better. Because then you receive a paycheck and that paycheck becomes money and that money becomes STUFF. But honestly, how much STUFF do we really need? Finding a satisfying job is a great thing, and considering that you aren't even in college yet, I think that sticking with the school store is going to benefit you in the long run. It's giving back to the school community, and I'm sure you have one of the most important jobs out of everyone, despite the lack of monetary reimbursement. It builds character.
...besides, think how great it will look on your college application.
