So as I have been browsing the new blogs, I see that people are very willing to speak about religion or the lack of it. But in an easy but overasked question, where did we come from? From a God who created every person individually or from a large "bang" in the cosmos? Although we seem to believe that our beliefs are our own, they are actually given to us. I know it sounds crazy. We all know what we believe or what we don't. But it is a fact. It is a fact the government knows how the new voters will vote, because based on various studies, a child is most likely going to have the same beliefs as their parents/caregivers. Especially when politics and morals are involved. So do we really choose how and what we believe, or do we grow up in an environment that grooms us to be who we are now? When I was first asked this question, I was offended to think someone would and did question my character and my beliefs. But when you really ponder this, it opens your eyes and forces you to investigate what you REALLY believe. I'm NOT saying that all of you people are crazy and you are just repeating what you have been subliminally exposed to. I am saying that to really understand what we believe, and to defend our own beliefs, we need to explore other beliefs with the same fervor that we explore our own. So WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE? Well at least about where we all came from and where we are going after this life, if anywhere.

In regards to where I came from and where I'm going: I believe that God created everything, and that when I die, if Christ does not return before then, I will go to the grave where I will be until I am resurrected at His coming. I do not believe that after death there is anything, such as heaven-going, and I can prove it soley from scripture. For those that are familiar with the Bible, it is undeniable that David, if anyone, would go to heaven, right? After all, he was a man after God's own heart (Acts 13:22). But in Acts 2:29&34, it is stated that David is in fact NOT in heaven, but laying in his tomb awaiting the day of resurrection. Another passage that disproves heaven-going is John 3:13, saying that "no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven."
True enough that many people believe what they do because of their parents. As Christadelphians, however, we are encouraged and encourage others to search the scriptures to know and prove what is the truth (John 5:39 , 2 Timothy 2:15). For salvation, it is essential to glorify God, and to glorify Him, we must know Him and know His will, and this knowledge can only be attained through the reading of His word (2 Tim. 3:15-17)
well, concerning religions...I am a Christian who believes in going to heaven when I die. As for using Bible verses to say that you don't believe in going to heaven....ok...but what's the Biblical alterntive?
