Today in class my teacher asked us what we thought the legal drinking age should be.
It's hard to say what the age should be because some ages are to young and others are old enough, but then the younger kids think that because it's illegal they want to do it. You have to have the right age because school gets in the way of things.
At the age of 16 kids are to young. Yet if the age is this low we won't have as many problems with underage drinking.Age 18 isn't any better because you are mostlikly still in high school and going to high school. The same thing is true with 18 years olds as is with 16 year olds, the age is younger than it is now and the underage drinking problem might be less. The age of 21 for the legal drinking age works for me but there are so many people out there that just don't follow the rules. There's also the fact that at the age of 18 you can go off and kill someone yet you still can't drink.
There have been times myself where there's been times to drink but, I know it's wrong and it doesn't help that I am afraid of the consequences from my parents.
Give me some of your opinions. What do you think the legal drinking age should be?

It's my opinion that States should set the age at 18. If you're old enough to die for your country, gamble away your college tuition, and (in the state of Nevada) become a prostitute, then you should be responsible enough to drink.
I think the legal drinking age should remain at 21 because when you turn 21, then you're definitely becoming an adult. If you want the legal drinking age to be 18, then you should move to Germany because the legal drinking age there is 18.
Read my blog!
I think it should be 18. 18 is the age when you can do pretty much everything except drink. You can vote, go to war, get married, adopt a child, play the lottery, get a job easier, be a bartender, be an adult, everything. It used to be 18 about 25 years ago. But if its lowered, you run into problems like 18 year old high schoolers buying for their underage friends, not that that doesn't happen now, but drinking would be pushed to younger and younger kids. Countries like Germany have an 18 year old drinking age and they dont seem to have so many problems as we do with it.
Sixteen is not too young at all. Most kids start drinking as soon as they're 13 or 14 years old. But if I have to choose, I'd say 18 as well because by that time people (teens especially) would have had some kind of experience regarding alcohol. There will be less problems with drinking for sure. The younger it is, the better most teens can handle themselves when it comes to drinking....maybe. Either way, it won't stop young teenagers from drinking. I don't see the point of having 21 as a legal age though. Teenagers can't buy....but that doesn't mean they can't get their hands on a bottle of something like vodka.
