I really didn't like any of the potential Republican cantidates for the upcoming election. I have to admit, Romney and Huckabee scared me much more than McCain did. Huckabee is a chauvinist; that alone is enough to make me dislike him...a lot. (I'm a feminist, it's my prerogative). But if Mitt Romney had somehow managed to get into the election and WIN, I would have moved to Canada. Or Iran. Anywhere but here...
I was watching "Meet the Press" on a Sunday morning and I heard a clip of one of his speeches. I assume that he was addressing Conservatives (*hiss*), because he stated that our Constitution should be rewritten to align with God's laws. AND PEOPLE CLAPPED. Thankfully, not many. But I love it when politicians do their homework. The Constitution states that the US government cannot promote or endorse any religion, so the chances of it being rewritten to align with ultra-conservative Christian principles isn't going to happen. I'd like to think that the citizens of this nation would not stand for it. But, it bothered me that Romney had the nerve to say that, and that he possibly does not realize that the US is a secular state. *Hex sign*
