I can think of no better title... They Caught the Bastard!

If you aren't sure what I'm talking about, read a previous entry of mine first: Perverted Justice.

Well, last night a little before midnight, my boyfriend was looking for a news article to write about for his Chemistry class.  We were on MSNBC's site when I see this little teensy headline in the corner... "Suspect arrested in sex assault on 3-year-old.  Josh pointed at the screen... "hey, they caught him."

Well, I have a class at 8 in the morning, so I only had a second to jump for joy before I had to go to bed for the night.  So today, as soon as I got the chance to jump on MSNBC, I searched frantically for the headline and found it!  I can't express how excited that I am that one more pervert is off the streets.

You can imagine all kinds of cool things, can't you?  How'd they catch him?  He was supposedly a knife-wielding survivalist who would "never be taken alive."  Can you picture it?  Close your eyes and picture his capture.  I bet you see a jungle-man waving a crooked, rusty knife at the police who found him living in the desert.  I bet you see an ambulance taking away all the officers Stiles bit or caught with the tip of his knife... that's what I pictured anyway.

Well, we got Jungle Man (see the link of the news story above).  Unfortunately, the story is a little less satisfying than we could have hoped.  There was no need to cruelly and unusually punish him (unconstitutional, yes, but I'd love to see him squirm.); he came quietly.  He was pulled over for driving without license plates and told the police "it's me, Chet Stiles, the guy you're looking for."  Or something along those lines.  [Personal note: he should have said: "put me away right now... I happen to be that sick pervert you've been looking for because I disguistingly and brutally raped a baby girl."] anyway, the officer who pulled him over called for backup, and the second officer cuffed him and took him away.

So do we have justice?

A little bit.  He's off the streets.

But is it only temporary?  He was accused of groping another little girl in the past.  He was charged with weapons violations and conspiracies but he was still walking the streets until just now.

In a way, there is justice.  But he hasn't been charged yet.  Until he has been found guilty and starts rotting in a prison cell, I'm not sure I'll be happy.

I'm excited to see what the jury decides.

And I don't care how much of my tax dollars go to punishing him.  I will gladly shell out the dough-- Keep the Pervert in Prison.

I agree with you, until they're found guilty, there's only small joy.

Seriously, I mean, who knows? He got off on huge charges before... even if he didn't get off, he still escaped. What about this time?
