How does one communicate with upper management? Is there a secret to understand on what they want? Need? Has anyone heard of NLP? How about regular everyday encounters with people you meet or know? Do you really understand them? Do they understand you?
I have never been fired from a job but have had problems with my managers of the past. It seems like we are on a different page. For example i had a boss who told me to do a specific IT related task. I did as she asked and she was not happy about it. I try to get as much information as possible by asking relevent questions. This simple task was not hard to understand, it was clear cut and simple. Has anyone had the same problems?
How about relationships? My wife for example pretty much understand each other but there are moments when we both disagree on some things.
I am reading about NLP. It talks about communication with people and how to understand them. I just started but as soon as i learn more, i will pass it on.

Yes I have felt like everything I do does'nt seem right to my boss. Well my previous boss. I like my bosses I work with now . But my former boss made me do everything. I used to work at CVS as a photo tech. Then he also made me stocker/cashier/ pharmacy assistant/janitor....... I could go on and on. I performed every task and that was not enough. I finally figured out that I was not the problem, it was my boss. So I got another job and now I work for Wells Fargo Bank. Hopefully that can help you out.
Thanks for the response. I quit my job about 4 months ago and feel so much better. I have to go back to work soon but to be away from a person who has no management skills what so ever feels great! I knew that i wasn't the problem but how do you tell that to a person who is in charge of you. Basically you can't, so i decided to move on and it was of the best choices i have ever made.
During the time off i started t read about NLP. Nuero Linguistic Programming. So far it has made an impression on me. I need to pay attention certain things in my life if i want to suceed. One of them was how to communicate with others using our basic senses that God gave us. How to be more aware of my senses and pay attention to detail. I am a very good listener and pay attention to detail, but this book about NLP is helping me realize how i can fine tune my mind, body and soul.
A friend told me about this NLP stuff a year ago and i did not believe him until i picked up a book. I am still learning and it is helpful so far...
