Financial Aid

Tagged:  •

I am 19 years old turning 20 in November.

I am in a Community College working hard just for my associates.

Why just my associates you may ask?

Well it's because I am paying for my classes and books on my own.

I do not qualify for financial aid because my parents supposedly make to much. If my parents made enough don't you think I wouldn't be asking for financial help? Well they do not care to see that. My parents have a small electrical company. They have employees, bills, and other things where their money goes. College is too expensive to pay for. So I work part-time just to pay my tuition. All I am striving to do is try to get scholarships just so I can get my associates. E

Even though I know an associates will not get me far in life. I plan on working my way later on to a Bachelor's in Business. But until then I struggle to just pay for 3 classes a semester. I'm on my second year in college and I'm still considered a freshman. I know I'm not the only with this problem. So please reassure me I'm not the only one getting denied from Financial Aid.

Definitely not... this is a very common issue. The FAFSA is a complete farce; I don't know anyone that admits receiving money from it. Financial aid based on need can be very hard to come by, and it seems like everyone has to a) work their butts off, b) take out loans, c) get scholarships, or d) rely on someone else... just to pay for college.

I wish you luck in your academic endeavors... and whatever you do... DON'T GIVE UP!!!

i don't apply to get financial aid either. it sucks.

Well it really sucks on how many people who do get it, do not take it serious. They spend money else where and do not finish school. Well thanks again!

My parents are also supposedly rich.

They're both unemployed. x.x
