Why haven't you heard about McCain's scandal?

You hear about Obama being Muslim (which he never was)
You hear about McCain's torture in Vietnam (what a war hero)
You heard about the Watergate Scandal.
You didn't hear about McCain being involved in a wide scale political scandal in the late 80s.

And why not? Honestly, I have no idea. I would like to hear your input on why ridiculous rumors spread and actual happenings which would be detrimental to a candidate's election are never even heard of. Can't the people affected by this in 1989 remember what happened? And if they do, why haven't they spread the word? Why hasn't any news channel exposed this recently?

Do we really want another Nixon in office? Yes, I'm comparing McCain to Nixon. In fact, McCain is worse: Nixon was not involved in planning the Watergate Scandal, although he tried to cover it up. McCain was directly involved in a scandal which contributed to the Saving s and Loan Crisis, resulting in $124.6 billion in taxpayer losses. This didn't just affect the opposing party-it affected individual lives. And all that you hear is that McCain can't raise his arms higher than his shoulder, because of the war heroism in him.

Are we as Americans just plain stupid?

In my books the chances of this being true is zero-none. there is no chance that this owuld not have already came out during campaigning, opposition speeches, adds, debate, ect. That is, if there was any truth to it. Secondly, if wikipedia is your only source than that pretty well expalins it. Any one can add/update the post on there. But i do appreciate you expressing your thoughts.

hmmm...
Wikipedia has links to more credible sources pinning John McCain down on the Keating Five scandal. One reason he does not get hounded for it is his apparent change of heart after being exposed; though it may be difficult ascertain his motives, he has, since the scandal, become an ardent supporter of campaign finance reform, to the point of antagonizing fellow conservatives.

Someone seems to have deleted my previous response. So I'll reword it:

Brett08, please don't use my blog as advertising space for your own blog. At least say something useful before putting up links.

If you want more credible sources, I'll give them to you. Looks like the chance of this already having happened is 1-1 now, right?
