Domestic Spy Program

Now that current CIA Director Porter Goss is leaving the agency in less than a month, Air Force Gen. Michael Hayden (the same man who has adamantly went to bat for G.W. Bush's now infamous Domestic Spy Program) is almost certain to to be appointed. Although there are members in both parties of Congress that question his confirmation, both the House and the Senate are in a rush to find a replacement. The debate is this: with this person strongly supporting the Domestic Spy Program, having strong ties to the Bush Administration, and having great military infulence, how will this effect the already under-fire Central Intelligence Agency. And will his appoinment lead to further illegal government strategies of spying? Will his appointment ultimately open up the doors for more policies that impose on the the privacy rights of Americans?
