I volunteer once a week tutoring underpriveleged kids in reading. These are kids who do not have the money for a tutor outisde of school. They have trouble in reading and writing on all different levels. The program is with the Pikes Peak Literacy Center and is volunteer based. Every Saturday morning, volunteers meet with the kids and work on reading lessonns provided and specially made for the program. It is a wonderful thing to do and helps in such an important way. Literacy is so vitally important and is something every person must have. Helping a child with his or her reading is so wonderful and even though they may not want to be there, they are thankful for you. I always love tutoring the child I'm with (and I'm starting back with the program in a couple of weeks - I took off during the summer because I was traveling and had surgery) and love helping these children. They are wonderful people and deserve this help.

I volunteer with Big Brother Big Sister and love it! Its very rewarding working with kids!
