Their Ignorance Inspires Me

When I see her sitting there trying to pierce her own lip, it enrages me, I cannot believe how naive she is. She thinks that by adding one more whole to her body, she'll fit in. What’s worse is that she has now chickened out and put in a fake one. I say, if you are going to become a "goth" at least be a REAL one. The way she dresses, it’s not her. She loves pink, she loves shopping, and her voice is high but when she's around them, she lowers her voice, wears all black, and hates on people just like her. Why? I cannot seem to understand. After three years, I just don’t understand. The teenage wasteland in only increasing. I cannot believe I was becoming part of them. Why do we insist on putting ourselves through so much just to fit in? Why spend so much money on expensive things that will be thrown away once out of style? Just to “be cool”? In the end, its all for naught. These friends of her won’t be there in college (if she even gets in...) and they won’t be there when she falls. All that's left us-conscious teen agers- to do is BE A BETTER PERSON. .
