Since abortion has become known and legal in the United States, the numbers have increased. And for what? Being drunk? Not being prepared? Just for acting stupid? Well, whose fault is it? A forming child in the womb is human, is it not? So to what extent has it been okay to take another human life? Never.
It has been said that it’s a woman’s decision to keep the baby or not because it’s her body. But why have unsafe sex when one knows that they’re not capable of raising a child of their own just yet? It’s almost guaranteed that everyone have had sex education at one point in his or her lives. We all know the possible consequences of having sex; we all know that there are ways of preventing pregnancy or taking alternative routes.
Not only have the number of abortions grown, but so has technology. Over the years, there has been product after product being made only aiming to reduce the chances of becoming pregnant. From birth control pills, to shots, to condoms, they have all been mentioned one way or another in school, by friends, doctors, and etc.
There are many complications that someone might not know about abortions. According to abortionfacts.com , abortion can cause bladder injury, breast cancer, failed abortions, hemorrhage, infections, post-abortion syndrome, and many more. There have been past abortions that have not succeeded. There have also been reports that abortions can cause later miscarriages. After an abortion, a woman can have severe blood loss, which can lead to brain hemorrhage, which also leads to death. Hemorrhages can also cause hepatitis through blood transfusions. So if an innocent life doesn’t have a person second-guessing, maybe risking their own life will.
There are many women out there that feel like they’ve made a mistake in their life, because of abortion. Kathy from Texas said, “… I went to the restroom. It was then I found my baby on my sanitary pad. He had arms and legs with tiny hands and feet. I could make out his little nose and a dark spot that I know was his eye. Even after 10 years, it’s still hard for me to think about it.” She felt as a young woman, who is not ready to have a child that abortion was the only way out. There are other alternatives to prevent from being a parent. For example, the mother can give the child up for adoption. Many couples rely on adoption because they are desperately trying to create a child of their own, but can’t due to personal bodily complications. An unborn child doesn’t have to live with a parent that didn’t want them in the first place.
In conclusion, this essay’s purpose is to have women think twice about abortion. To know that abortion is a choice, not something that she’s been forced to commit to. To know that adoption and foster homes are all other options that she can consider. And to remind themselves that all precautions should be taken when having sex without the intention of wanting an infant.

There is so much wrong with this blog.
First of all, women can get pregnant from getting raped or while on birth control, not just from having unprotected sex. Second, women get abortions for many different reasons, not because they "just don't want" a kid. Some women can't afford another child, much less the time off work and the health care neccesary to carry a pregnancy to term. Some women don't want to bring a child with a debilitating genetic disease or disorder into the world.
You're highly exaggerating the rates of complications from abortions. The sooner the abortion is performed in pregnancy, the lesser the chance of complications. For abortions between 0-6 weeks the rate of complications is less than 1 %. For abortions between 7-12 weeks the rate is 3-6%. http://www.emedicine.com/EMERG/topic4.htm Ninety percent of abortions are performed before 12 weeks. And included in the definition of complications are things like low-grade fevers, which aren't even life threatening. An abortion has about the same risks as any simple, elective surgery.
Adoptions aren't the perfect solution for either the women or the child. It's been well-documented that people who have been adopted experience identity issues and psychological problems. Rates of abuse for children in foster care are shocking. A child in foster care is twice as likely to die of abuse and four times as likely to be sexually abused as a child in the general population. http://www.nccpr.org/newissues/1.html
So if you want to decrease abortions, advocate things that will make having the child a feasible option for the woman. Affordable health care, including pre- and post-natal care, public pre-school, affordable day care, guaranteed paid maternity and paternity leave would make a huge difference towards making birth an affordable option. Comprehensive sex education, affordable and available birth control, and promoting academic success and career goals for girls (and boys) wouldn't hurt either.

Well you did make a good arguemnt on abortions . You gave more facts about abortion than some people have on here. People can get pregnant from condoms busting and other reasons like Esuffern said. Don't be suprised when you see some people's claws come out about this issue. Some will agree and others will tell you what they feel is not right. Good factual blog. I don't know if the facts are true, but they sound good.
That's the problem, the facts aren't true. There have been no conclusive studies that show that abortions cause breast cancer. There's even been a large study that has shown that there is no significant increase in rates of breast cancer in women who have had abortions compared to those who haven't.
As far as complications, my reply showed that the rates are low. Rates of complications are higher for a tonsillectomy. http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN&cpsidt=16187854
