A new generation of mothers and daughters have a new way of bonding. Instead of shopping or just hanging out the mothers and daughters are drinking and flirting with guys together. Basically, this new generation bar hops together. Personally I find this new trend very odd. I think mothers and daughters should not be partying together. Mothers need to be displaying a better role model. This is so untraditional. Bonding should be appropriate. This new tradition is changing the roles of mother and daughter. The mother and daughter should not just be friends. The mother should be just that a mother to her child. While I think it is a good thing that mothers and daughters in this generation are very close. Yet, there needs to be a line and distinction between mother and friend. Personally, I can relate to this because one of my friend's mother is like this. She wants to party and hang out with her daughter and her friends doing things that are not age appropriate. The friend of mine does not really have a mother. She sometimes comments that she wishes her mom would be a mom...

I see no problem with mothers partying with daughters if the daughters are of age to go out and party. It can be a great way to bond over common interests. But if the daughter is still a minor there is a huge problem. Parents need to act like parents so that the daughter knows what it is to be an adult and take on adult responsibilities.
I do not want to party with my daughter unless its a family party. I was pondering this because now there are girls in the world who act as rotten as Paris Hilton because we aren't setting morals in our children. I talked with some of my old high school teachers not to long ago and they were saying that these children are brave in how they act and talk. It is getting harder and harder to control them and teach them the things they need to succeed. I believe its because these parents are letting them get away with being under the influence and partying with them. I want my daughter to know that I am her mother and that I am here for her but not to take her partying!!!
