The news is supposed to show...well, news. I define news as the good and the bad, basically, just whatever is goin on in our surroundings. Lately though, when you turn on the news, all you hear is the bad...and of course the weather. The same general fact applies to the newspaper. Last week, there was a huge picture of a student who had been kicked out of school a record number of times. What about the students who have spent hours changing the community for the better? They are on the 6th page of course. So, what are we teaching the youth, the future? Well, if you want attention, act out in the worst possible way if you want any recognition. So, instead of cleaning up my community, maybe I should start working on my graffiti signature...

I notice the same thing. The media seems to tryto keep people afraid. The news...literally isn't news. Because i can predict tonight there was going to have been a murder somewhere, a rape, and some kid is probably suing his parents. But yeah exactly as you said, if something big happend it would be on the back cover.
I know exactly what you mean. It's pretty terrible.... Killers, rapists, and the scandals revolving around government officials have replaced any sign of "good news."
In my local newspaper, the "Roll of Honor," which lists the troops who have been killed overseas, has been moved to the ninth page of the second section, when it used to be on the second or third page of the first. How's that for respect?
The media says a lot about our world and how many view certain issues. Some issues are "valued" more than others, even if they shouldn't be....
