Campaigns

Am I the only one who notices the stupidity of the political campaign commercials? There is never a commercial for the candidate, either Republican or Democratic; all of the commercials are putting down the other. I believe it would be more educational if the viewers learned specifically what the party believed in, rather than what the other party says they believe in. For instance, instead of saying a Democratic candidate is pro-choice, a Republican candidate's commercial says something to the effect of "(Democratic Candidate's name) is in favor of killing babies" It would be much better if we learned from the Republicans what they believe in and the same with the Democrats.

I dislike such negativity in ads; I think it'd be much more productive and civil if people just tried to make themselves look good without trying to put down anyone else. On the other hand, I have seen quite a few positive commercials this year (local), and that has pleased me. I didn't think such ads were possible.

"Men become civilized, not in proportion to their willingness to believe, but in proportion to their readiness to doubt."

"Freedom of press is limited to those who own one."

"Every decent man is ashamed of the government he lives under."
