A Little Intro

Well, here it goes, my first blog, so I'll start off with a little bit about myself.
I'm 17 years old, born and raised in Michigan, and will be attending college who knows where next year.
I was born and raised Catholic, and that probably has affected my political views, although I wouldn't necessarily say it has defined them. My faith is important to me, but I do tend to disagree with some of Church views, which you may hear about from time to time.
Since I am Catholic, you've probably already guessed that I am a conservative, which is true. My mom is a very outspoken Republican, while my dad leans that way, but is definitely quieter about it all, although he does stand by his views. As for me, I tend to roll in between the two. I can be very outspoken when I'm voicing my opinion, especially when challenged, but I don't often volunteer the information, except when writing.
After many years of waiting, I finally get to vote in my first election this year. I now am watching the campaign pretty closely, although I have absolutely no idea who my top candidates are.
As for my posts, I tend to read a lot of Time, Newsweek, etc, so a lot of my ideas will probably come from there, although anything else is open as well.
I guess that's all, happy reading!

Welcome to ProU. While we encourage you to blog as much as possible, there are several areas designated to introducing yourself. Some bloggers, myself included, really find "Hello, my name is..." posts very annoying, and you will too when the contest gets into full swing. Especially when you see 6 to 10 of them in a row.

You'll be fun to read, though, so I'll keep an eye for your posts. Have fun and good luck!

Good luck in the contest and welcome to ProgU. Take Nick Adens' warning seriously, for you will see a lot of those posts coming up. Hey, as long as you don't do two intros you're probably okay. :)

Anyway, here's my tip-of-the-day: space out paragraphs. It's easier to read something on a webpage when the paragraphs are separated. Look at your two comments so far. Aden and I have both used this technique, and it sure does help a reader keep track of where they are.

Oh, and one more thing. I give this advice to a lot of people. Don't feel singled out!

Have fun bloggin!

Aww...I'm revered. ^_^

Great. As if we needed Nick to get a boost in self-esteem.

But what about the aliens, Zaphod?

Good catch, even with the paraphrase.
