In the sinful fallen world we live in more and more things are being excepted that our four fathers would have turned over in there graves about. Polygamy in no way shape or form is permitted by God. In Genisis God created man and women. He made women to keep man company and help multiply the earth. God siad in 1cor. 6:13 " the body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. This goes against Gods will for families. God said that husband and wife are to unite and become one. NOT husands and wives!!!!!! How do confusing for the kids? so you mean to say dad that your haveing sex not only with my mom but her and her and her? So would you teach your son or daughter to have sex with mulitple people? If your love your husand or wife with all your heart you would not want them sleeping with other people. So as a christian this is where i satnd and these are the rules of marriage that God has set for me and other beleivers. So to the young girl that posted " is polygamy wrong?" id like to know where your getting your information that polygamists marriges work and monogimist marriges have a high divorce rate. Since polygamy is illegal in every state how do they know percentages? And by you saying we can make our own descioins we have the freedom that is a postmodern world veiw. Pretty much that means whats the meaning of anything or what makes it wrong. Its based only on opinion . Thats why the TV stations and media are excepting things like Gay marriage? When clearly to women cannot reproduce or two men. so i challenege you to re think your "christian veiws" on this.

I do not go by the bible because many people use the bible to much, instead of just worshipping god and Jesus. Plus there are many flaws in the bible but that is for later discussion. I don't believe in pologomy because it is mutiple partners but gay people should be able to do what they want to do. They are not harming anyone with their intentions if they are in monogamous relationship and love each other. There really is no problem with this besides what the bible view states...

I agree! Polygamy is totally wrong and against the Bible. God sent man and woman to unite as one and it should stay that way. I think our society keeps coming up with excuses to do whatever it wants, whenever it wants. Polygamy does not show respect at all.

Well - polygomous people are not harming anyone...they can love one another & be monogomous (in the sense of exclusive sexually) within the group.

Besides me doing other than what I was put on Earth for, I believe that polygamists have WAAAAAAAAAAAY more children than most families... so that should make God accepting of that aspect. Then, not only is the husband accompanied by one woman, but upwards of 2 to in the hundreds (if your Warren) so God should be glad that these woman are doing apparently what He put them on Earth to do.
Er, Abraham had two wives. So did Moses. So did many great people from the OT. So apparently God did approve.

What's wrong with polygamy? If a man loves two women, why should he not marry both those women? He can get more kids that way, too, and more people to take care of those kids. If a woman loves two men, why not marry them both? She'll have more people to support her. What if she loves a man who is sterile, but she wants children? She can thus have two life partners, one of whom can give her children, the other who can help her run the household and care for the children. The more loving, supportive adults in committed relationships, the better. Three people can be just as committed to each other as two people.
