Success is a very broad term, covering many things, but many people fail to define success for themselves before trying to be successful. Some say that "the ends justify the means, "while others believe that the means are what make you successful. What about those who do not know? Are they successful and do not know it? Are you successful because of your money or what you did to achieve the money?
Personally, I believe that a person is successful if they are satisfied in both the means and the end. I did not realize this until I "failed" at something that was seemingly important to me. When I was in 10th grade I applied to the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM), thinking that I would be accepted because of all my hard work in the math and science fields. However, I was appalled when my rejection letter came. I felt as though I had failed. Fortunately, I was offered a job as a tutor for hispanic students, teaching them difficult math and science concepts in their language. I found this to be more satisfying than success in science and math. My means were extensive and pleasing to me. I spent many years at various science and math camps, I met interesting people, and I had a sense of belonging. Although, my ends did not turn out how I planned, I still feel successful. My knowledge of math and science opened many new doors for me and allowed me to work on other talents such as my talent for languages and has led me to my future career: teaching hispanic and special needs children. This is my success.
What is success to you? Is it how much money you have? How many people you are friends with? Where you live?

i think it's more how happy you are with your accomplishments then attaining one big "accomplishment" the end doesn't have to be big. i was happy when i figured out how to change the light bulb at work(hanging lamps have tricky covers). doing what you love and makes you happy is more important. money isn't important. you just need enogh to get by and survive. friends come and go, but the few good ones will come and stay. just be happy.
