Curse Technology with the fleas of a thousand camels!

I set up an account on Progressive U and my laptop refuses to let me on. Does anyone else ever have serious problems with Windows Vista? Microsoft should take the problems in their new software very seriously and see if they can't do something about it. They seem to think that I need an exorbant amount of protection from myself. I do not want a computer with a conscience. "Are you sure you want to do this? No really, are you SURE?!?!" For heaven's sake!
Anyway, enough ranting. I am really interested to start blogging and see what turns up. I think one of the best ways to progress is to bounce ideas off others, and then take action. Hopefully this wlil be the bouncing ideas part, and the action I can take of myself.
I'm an engineering student, and it never fails to amaze me the variety of people who enter the major. There are those who are interested in becoming lawyers and doctors, who simply do engineering as their undergraduate major so they will have something good-looking on their resume when they apply to graduate schools. There are those who want to make all the money they possibly can and they see engineering as a way to cash in. As for me, I just want to work with my dad, a contractor, with his small business. Also, I am going to do humanitarian service with Engineers Without Borders. They go to third world countries and work on progressive, sustainable engineering projects for the people there. That is something I am way excited to participate in, when I get a little more advanced and have the skills that I can contribute to the team. You can see www.ewb-usa.org/ if you are interestedin learning more about them.

I heard Vista was awful. They hurry to much trying to get technology out so there is many flaws. They need to slow it down. Welcome and happy blogging!
