Bringing it back!

I was out of breath and couldn't fathom going through the entire routing from start to finish one more time. I had less than fifteen seconds to get to my spot so we could run the entire show again. We had a week before our final competition, and we called it "hell week." Estrogen flamed like fire, and everyone was temperamental. The team was an all girl squad. Nothing tested us more that putting hours of sweat and dedication into such an exuberating activity for someone to say it's not a sport; a sport in which i call cheerleading.

I cheered for 3 seasons when I was in high school. I loved the sport. I really did. However, as i know now, I did not fit in with the group of girls. I couldn't be a witch, no matter how hard I tried. I'm just your average nice girl. So, now that I am in college, at a college that doesn't have cheerleading, I keep telling the other girls on my floor, that we should start a squad.

Well, I met this wonderful gal a couple weeks ago playing intramural volleyball, and we clicked almost instantly. We were both cheerleaders, and you could tell. So, we now have a class together this semester, and we are going to start working out together (for that class.) She informed me a couple weeks ago, that she and her friend are going to talk to someone who holds quite a bit of power in the area of getting a cheerleading team here at school. I was so excited to here this! However, this is going to take a lot of work to get this team started by next fall. The two girls are going to hold tryouts, and I really hope I make it! I am more flexible now, than I was in high school. Some of the fun stunts that you see on TV competitions, I can do now! Especially the scorpion. That is what I am most excited about. I just have to make the team, and go from there!

So cheerleading, may be coming back here at SAU. This is a really exciting oppotunity!
