I understand that this topic is incredibly touchy with a lot of people, so I'm writing this from as unbiased a standpoint as is humanly possible when dealing with this sort of thing. I have heard recently that many states in our country are passing bills that force elementary school students to start learning gay history, and reading books that promote the gay lifestyle, such as "Prince and Prince" a book about a prince that marries a prince instead of a princess. It is my understanding, that many people are finding this to be an incredible breakthrough in getting our kids used to the idea of gays and accepting them into the community, while many others find this to be appaling, and think that topics such as homosexuality should be saved for older children.
Is elementary school too young for such topics to be presented, or is it the perfect age to mold young minds to the ways of society, dispite any controversy their parents might have?
Also, in the state of California, there are rumors of a bill being passed that would allow a child in a public school to choose between using the girls bathroom or lockeroom or the boys bathroom or lockeroom, depedning on which sex they most affiliated themselves with.
Where this to pass, or if it has already passed, would this be considered more appropriate or less appropriate to the students? Would you consider it better for someone whom is female on the inside to be with people of the female gender when in private situations, or would the outside of their body be more important???

The intent of the California bill depends on how you spin it. Rather than seeing it as homosexual indoctrination, I see it as simply acknowledging the existence of gay and lesbian and gender variant people. The fact is, we exist. Does it do kids any good to lie to them about our existence? Does it help anyone to promote fear of the unknown? My take on this issue can be found here:

In terms of the "are kids too young" question...
Children are going to be molded whether we try to do it or not. They just are. We were all molded by one thing or another. Introducing them to a reality, particularly a civil, nonviolent, very applicable reality (it's not like we're showing them dildos) is a healthy decision. It's progressive, really, because those children are more likely to not even consider homosexuality as an issue. It's just a truth.
