All girl athletes know that women's sports are extremely fun, dificult, and worth watching. Then why don't major networks agree with us? I love to watch sports. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing agaisnt men's sports. But everytime I go to watch a basketball game on TV, all I can find are men's games. I know that this problem has been improving. A lot more women's sports are shown on TV, but there are still more men's sports that women's sports being broadcasted. It's not just major networks that do this either. Local news stations in my area will go to a baseball game to film it before they will go to a softball game. It's ridiculous!!!

In some cases its the male sports that get all the attention but are the fakest. Its like the men are just their for teh money but the women are playing becasue they lvoe the sport. I rather watch softball than other baseball teams besides the YANKEES!!!! Tennis i think is the one sport where women get alot of airtime besides like ice skating and gymnastics.
Conformity is the jailor of freedom and the enemy of growth!~JFK
It is sad that women are not represented equally in the sports realm. I grew up around sports both playing them and watching them. I think the problem with not broadcasting as much women's sporting events is that they do not get the ratings that their male counterparts do. Television stations are in competition with other stations. They need more viewers so they can produce more revenue, and women's sports just aren't there yet. They are relatively new to our country compared to male sports, so it may change in the future. It has already gotten more popular than when they first started airing womens' softball or basketball games.
In response to the first comment: I don't think men's sports are fake. Some do it for love of the game, so do it for love of the money, but I think it's more of the first. In order to sacrifice your body week after week like some men do, there has to be some heart in it. Of course it seems like women do it more for love of the game because they don't get the recognition that men do.
