Hey There!

Hey everyone... As you can all see, I'm kind of new to this whole blogging thing, but it should be nice to have a place to rant and rave about politics, society, and whatever else...

However before I begin with the rants, I should probably tell you a bit about myself. Just as in literary criticism and understanding, I think it will be important for my blogs that the reader has a sense of the person behind them. Here goes: <!--break-->

I am your average seventeen year old girl, completing my second semester of my senior year of high school, applying to colleges and all that jazz. I go to a Catholic school, but am not Catholic nor conservative, and I do not wear a uniform. I am openly bisexual, which I have found I need to tell people upon meeting them, otherwise they get annoyed later and think I have been keeping something from them. Rather, I do not feel it is a defining part of myself, rather I define my bisexuality by deciding who I date. Before you read on, I must point out a couple untrue stereotypes: I do not just make out with girls so guys can watch, nor am I a whore. I just date people because of their personality rather than their gender. To date I have been in two major relationships, and each was with a girl. Many people consider me to be a lesbian, but I do occasionally date guys.

The most defining part of my life was the six months I spent abroad as a foreign exchange student my sophomore year. Before going abroad I was very shy, quiet, and unsure of myself. However, at the beginning of my stay I realized that I had a choice between sitting around and waiting to return home and actually going out, making friends, and having a good time. I slowly but surely came out of my shell, made amazing friends, and returned home a completely different person.

Well, I think thats enough about me, though I'm sure tidbits will get thrown in here and there in my blogs... : D
