This is my first time posting any type of blog. Any input is greatly appreciated. I am a 21 year old college student in Kennesaw, Georgia. I attend Kennesaw State University. I am very interested in current issues and issues that students face every day. I feel like there are issues that our generation faces today, that other generations did not have to deal with when they were our age. I am also very pleased to have the resources that we have available to us today. I am currently a professional sales/Marketing major, and have no clue what I am going to do with my degree after school. I also have a feeling that this is a very popular belief with young people my age. Well, that is my introduction, and until I hear something that sparks a fire in me to write about I will be back later! Alright I am back.. I was told that my blog was too short.. so I will get started on my issues now. Juggling full time school, full time work and a boyfriend/girlfriend is just about the hardest thing to do at my age. I believe that society has pushed us all to think that unless we are enrolled full time at school and work 40+ hours per week that we are "slackers" in the eyes of society. Granted this does push us all to learn how to deal with stress on a day to day basis, but maybe students shouldn't have to go through so much stress in their lives while attending college, and trying to figure out what they are going to do once they get their piece of paper stating that they have accomplished 160+ credit hours of school and focused on one particular subject in their time spent at that school. I strongly believe that if I didn't have to strain myself with 40+ hours per week just to pay for gas and car insurance these days that my grades would be tremendously better because I would have the ability to solely focus on school and only school.

Yes dear, in a perfect world, we would not have to work to pay bills and put gas in the car all while obtaining our education and loving and being loved! But as young people, we have to wear many hats and manage to keep our sanity! So as a young 25 yr old who has been 21, i say enjoy your 20s! Remember to never make someone your priority while allowing yourself to be their option! While working so hard, remember to make time for play! And wake up everyday thankful that you are able to join the rat race yet again because many people our age are no longer in the race at all!!

P.S. Blogging is no more than your thoughts written out, you seem to be doing quite well with expressing yourself for the first time via blog!
I think the majority of us start straining when we get in high school. Especially senior year. Thats when they really try to load us down with college, college, college. I have changed my major so many times I still don't know if I want to go into physical therapy or not. Or maybe I can get my MBA. Now you see what I mean? Try to attend college and help raise a 6 month old, work 40 hours at work, try to meet 80 sales or more in a 3month period, and still feel like you can't get a break anywhere. But I wish the best for you and welcome to progressive.
