Brand New

Im really new at this blogging thing. well im not that brand new i've blogged before on myspace but these blogs are suppose to have more substance. It is a lot easier to go on a rant about your feeling about what happened during your week but to write about something that really matters is diffcult. So here we go here is something important when i was in journalism class i was force to read the economist not that i have anything aganist it but this economist was six old months but in the end i was glad i read it . The part that intrest me most was the article they have on the regime in Myanmar. It talked about the evil regime in Myanmar and how they arent taking care of the children in Myanmar. the percentage of people living below the poverty line is a ridiculous 36%, that three time the percentage in the united states. Also the children of myanmar are dying because of inadequant healthcare the regime spends 2% of their budget on health care compared top the 40% they spend on their armed forces. In Myanmar's Dry Zone 312 childrren were born but only 112 survived. The farmers who want to sell produce in myanmar are stopped at check points and have to bribe military officers. Myanmar happens to be rich in rubies and teak but the the children are dying becasuse of a greedy regime who only care about the money in their pockets and not about the people in the country.

Well, yes, thinks are really bad there, but it's slightly more complicated than that. I'm not expert on Burma (Myanmar) but they have been in the news a lot, and I've done a little research on them in regard to China. So I know a little.

Economically, Burma is a mess. There's no infrastructure and inflation is going crazy. There are not enough educated people in the workforce for the nation to advance technologically. They're not stable.

They're governed by a strict military regime, which accounts for the horrendous use of force to maintain control. In places where there is little tyranny and oppression, there is instead anarchy. In my opinion, the entire nation is organized chaos. And the icing on the cake is the way the government brutally beats down protesters, most notably the monks of late.

It's really hard for anything to be done about the situation there. The democratically elected leader is under house arrest, tourism is being discouraged by human rights groups, and there's been a nation-wide internet shortage to prevent the world from knowing what's going on there. China, however, is in a prime position to shake things up there, but instead is continually supplying them with arms. Ah, China.

Anyways, yeah, being aware of the situation is the best way to try and help. Just a suggestion, but perhaps adding for structure and analysis to your blogs might make them more appropriate for this site. : )
